Biography

Byrona J. Maule is a Shareholder in the Litigation Department and Co-Chair of the Firm’s Labor and Employment and Health Care practice groups. She represents individuals and both privately-held and public companies in a wide range of employment, business and litigation matters.

Byrona received the Thomas E. Deacy, Jr., Prize in Advocacy and the American Jurisprudence Award in Family Law. She also worked as an Assistant Attorney General of Missouri from 1986 to 1989. She graduated a member of the Order of the Barristers in 1986. Byrona also received The Journal Record's Leadership in Law Award in 2008 for outstanding service in the legal community.

Born and raised in rural Missouri, Byrona lives in Oklahoma City with a menagerie of pets, including Bailey, Pepper and Gracie. Her hobbies include music, gardening and camping. Byrona also sings in the Bach Coral Society and sings and plays the piano in Impact, a Christian Rock Band.

Representative Experience

  • Successfully represented Spartan School of Aeronautics and Technology before the National Labor Relations Board during the campaign and election against United Auto Workers campaign to unionize the Spartan Flight School. Spartan Aviation Industries, Inc., v. International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW), Case No.: 17-CA-21439.
  • Represented attorney and former judge in 42 USC §§ 1981, 1983, 1985 and Title VII case, successfully obtained dismissal of case on all counts upon motion to dismiss. Simeon N. Norteye v. Unisource Worldwide, Inc., a Delaware Corporation, and a Subsidiary Of Georgia-Pacific Corporation, a Georgia Corporation and their Employees and agents, Tommy Allen, Supervisor; Kyle Gothard, Warehouse Manager; Charles "Chuck" Havenar, Operations Manager; Louis G. Buchanan, Employer's Attorney; and Loyde H. Warren, Plaintiff's Former Attorney, and The Honorable Kenton W. Fulton, individually and in His Official Capacity as a Judge of the Oklahoma Workers' Compensation Court, Case No. CIV-02-694-C (USDC Western District of Oklahoma).
  • Has over 45 reported cases in Missouri (Byrona J. Kincanon) and Oklahoma (Byrona J. Maule) at the appellate court level; has represented clients before all levels of appellate practice at the state level in Missouri and Oklahoma; and has represented clients before the Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal in the 8th and 10th Circuits.
  • Provides employment advice and representation of two of the top fifteen companies recognized as Best Places to work in Oklahoma.
