Biography

G. Calvin Sharpe is an attorney in the Litigation Department. He represents individuals and both privately-owned and public companies in matters of complex commercial and civil litigation. He also counsels Native American Tribes on water issues, tribal claims to water and similar matters.

G. Calvin has spent his entire legal career inside Oklahoma courtrooms defending the business interests of a diverse group of national and regional clients. His complex litigation practice includes class action and mass tort defense, with an emphasis in the related areas of products liability, medical malpractice, catastrophic personal injury and insurance defense.

A Native American deeply connected to the culture and tradition of his ancestors, G. Calvin is an advocate in the community and the courts, admitted to practice in the Cherokee Nation Tribal Court; the Supreme Court of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation; and the Chickasaw Nation Tribal Court.

G. Calvin is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, has tried dozens of jury trials to verdict and is recognized as an Oklahoma Super Lawyer by the publishers of Law and Politics magazine. He has also published works including Limiting Municipal Exposure for Negligent Maintenance of Street Signs, Barricades, Construction Projects and Sidewalks for the Municipal Assurance Group and "Defense of an 18 Inch Case" for the American Gas Association Claims Litigation and Protective Committee.In 2010, he received The Journal Record's Leadership in Law award for his outstanding contributions to the community and the legal profession.

Born in Oklahoma City, G. Calvin and his wife, Carla, reside with their children Anden and Aaron in Crown Heights—one of the city's most celebrated historic districts. He is an outdoor enthusiast who is active in hunting, fishing and nearly every other sporting and outdoor activity.
