Biography

Jason A. Dunn is an attorney in the Litigation Department. He represents individuals and both privately-held and public companies in a wide range of business and commercial litigation matters.

While in law school, Jason served as the assistant editor-in-chief of the University of Missouri Law Review and was named to the Order of the Coif. He also authored the article, “Too Sophisticated for Your Own Good: Missouri, Sophisticated Parties and…The Economic Loss Rule,” 68 MO. L. REV. 195 (2003). Before joining Phillips Murrah in 2009, Jason practiced commercial litigation for five years with a well-established Kansas City law firm.

Born in Springfield, Missouri, Jason lives in Edmond, Oklahoma, with his wife and three sons. In his free time, he enjoys his family, attending sporting events and outdoor recreation.

Representative Experience

  • Successfully defended a reinsurer on appeal of claims for fraud and breach of contract in federal appellate court; assisted in the defense of those claims in the federal district court
  • Successfully defended a major telecommunications company on tort claims in state, federal district and federal appellate court proceedings
  • Represented an international reinsurer in an arbitration between an insurance company and group reinsurers
  • Prosecuted multiple negotiable instrument litigations on behalf of creditors
  • Assisted in the defense of an interstate gas pipeline on breach of contract and tort claims in various federal and state courts
  • Assisted in the defense of a regional bank in a class action proceedings involving compliance with a federal regulatory lending program
  • Assisted in the representation of an international reinsurer in federal court proceedings concerning the interpretation and enforcement of an arbitration agreement
  • Assisted in the prosecution of negotiable instrument claims against a commercial borrower and its principal on behalf of a regional bank
  • Assisted in the defense of a mortgage lending company in residential lending litigation
  • Assisted in the defense of appraisers in numerous litigations concerning residential refinancing transactions
  • Assisted an interstate gas pipeline in the evaluation and assumption of pending condemnation litigation concerning acquired assets
